The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series Exhibitions
The HKJC Charity trust is always engaged in educational, informative and exciting activities. This time they have two exhibitions lined up for enthusiasts.
Eternal Life - Exploring Ancient Egypt through its mummies:
2 June – 18 October 2017
Venue: Hong Kong Science Museum
Jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and The Trustees of the British Museum, the “Eternal Life – Exploring Ancient Egypt” Exhibition is one of the featured exhibitions of 2017/18 The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series, and solely sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. With Egyptian funerary traditions and the pursuit of eternal life as its theme, the exhibition uses the latest technologies, such as 3D projection mapping, virtual reality and holograms, to take visitors back in time to experience life in ancient Egypt.

Venue: Hong Kong Museum of History
Solely sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and jointly organized by the Hong Kong Museum of History and The Palace Museum, the “Longevity and Virtues: Birthday Celebrations of the Qing Emperors and Empress Dowagers” is one of the featured exhibitions of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series 2017/2018. The exhibition introduces the Emperor’s Birthday, which along with the New Year Day and Winter Solstice constituted the three most important festivals of the time, and reveals the ritual system related to the birthday celebrations of the Qing emperors and empress dowagers and the rich culture of ancient Chinese birthday traditions . A number of large-scale multimedia programs will also be shown in the exhibition to reproduce the jubilant scenes and take visitors back in time to experience these ancient events in new and interesting ways.
