Unpredictaheel Fashion!
Racing fashion has always been about the hats. The designer dresses and the extravagant head wear. Royal Ascot is the ultimate stage to the theatre of racing fashion. Poor uncomplaining foot wear usually gets punished. Heels sink deep into the grass and in many cases the expensive shoes have to be thrown out the next day. In other cases shoes are simply forgotten on the grass as racegoers push off to the dance floor or to the bubbly lounge. With a little help from shoe designer to the stars, Kira Goodey, the Australian Turf Club commissioned The Unpredictaheel, a high-tech shoe which helps the wearer with everything except predicting the winning horse.
From comfortable heel padding for dancing, a thick heel to walk across grass and can also raise the height of the wearer to get a better view of the track action. It comes with accessories and embellishments to compliment different race looks.
It has also got an RFID chip that you tap to allow access into VIP sections and a payment chip to pay for anything and everything available at the racecourse. Ofcourse, the shoes wouldn’t be meant for racing if they didn’t help you bet. It sends out pulsing notifications to make you turn left or right, directing the wearer from anywhere within the Carnival to the betting ring. It also alerts the wearer two minutes before each race starts via vibrating soles.
Racing royalty, style icon, and media personality Kate Waterhouse will join the Australian Turf Club family at the inaugural Everest Day, flaunting her own Unpredictaheel.
And finally, when the races are won, the bubbly is over and its time to go home just click your heels three times like Dorothy to book your ride home.
