Champions Eye the Sheema Classic
Rey de Oro, the current Japanese Champion and also the Tokyo Yushun winner will run in the USD 6 million Sheema Classic (G1) on March 31st. The son of top stallion King Kamehameha is owned by U Carrot Farm and trained by Kazuo Fujisawa.
Rey de Oro came second in the prestigious Japan Cup last year in November behind Cheval Grand but while doing so he defeated the seven time GR 1 winner Kitasen Black.
On The other side, Cracksman is also being considered for the Sheema Classic (G1) according to Racing Post reports. Owned by Anthony Oppenheimer, the son of the great Frankel is trained by two-time race winner John Gosden, who landed last year’s edition with Godolphin’s Jack Hobbs.
