The Everest 2018 Selection Begins
The Everest slot-owners have started shortlisting possible runners for the 2018 edition.
William Inglis have called for expressions of interest from owners which closes next Friday. Inglis is understood to be considering the credentials of at least four sprinters, including Trapeze Artist, the winner of the All Aged Stakes (2018).
Redzel, winner of the inaugural The Everest, Doncaster Mile winner Happy Clapper and The Galaxy winner In Her Time are also on Inglis’s radar.
Inglis was one of the first slot-holders to lock in an Everest runner last year when it chose Fell Swoop and is expected to make their decision sooner rather than later again.
The Australian Turf Club board of directors selected Brave Smash last year with the former Japanese sprinter running a close third. They will be considering which sprinters will be on their short list for The Everest.
Tabcorp, which had English running for them last year, is also looking at options with Redzel, Trapeze Artist, In Her Time and Happy Clapper top of their hit list.
