Brave Smash To Make an Everest Splash
Two of the most powerful stables in Australia have decided to hitch their wagons together. Darren Weir prepared by Brave Smash, third in last year's Everest, is set to back up again in the $13 million feature sprint on behalf of Chris Waller Racing.
The Japanese import represented the Australian Turf Club in 2017 but has switched slots following a deal between Waller Racing and Brave Smash's owners Australian Bloodstock.
Waller currently doesn't have a suitable runner for the race in his own stable. While Brave Smash failed to fire at his last two runs in Sydney, finishing last in the Gr.1 All Aged Stakes (1200m) at his most recent start, but finished a close-up second to Redkirk Warrior in The Newmarket prior to heading north.
Other confirmed contenders include Trapeze Artist, In Her Time and last year's winner Redzel.
