Royal Ascot: Threading chances Coronation Stakes 2018
Mark Johnston trained Threading was impressive winner of the Lowther Stakes at York as a two-year-old and is now being aimed at the renewal of the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot 2018.
Her easy win in a listed race back at York, beating the useful Dance Diva by seven lengths connections that she is good enough tried to be triedin an exciting renewal of the Coronation Stakes, with the English, Irish and French 1000 Guineas winners all heading there.
Mildenberger, who chased home subsequent Derby-third Roaring Lion in the Dante Stakes last time, is also set to take his chance for Johnston at the Royal meeting, with the King Edward VII Stakes said to be his most likely target.
"We are very happy with him, he is in the King Edward VII and Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot," said Johnston.
The initial plan before Epsom was that Mildenberger would probably go the King Edward and Dee Ex Bee would go for the Queen's Vase.
That was on the assumption that Dee Ex Bee would finish fifth or sixth in the Derby, but he finished second.
As a result Dee Ex Bee is out of the Royal Meeting completely.
