Royal Ascot Ground In Great Nick
Ascot's Clerk of the Course Chris Stickels has reported the ground to be good to firm, good in places ahead of Day 1 of Royal Ascot on Tuesday.
There is no rain forecast for the rest of the week at Ascot, which should ensure perfect racing conditions.
“This is my 13th Royal meeting and it’s still a nervous time, there’s always a different challenge. I’m really excited,” Stickels said.
“We’re good to firm, good in places and watering to maintain that. We watered on Sunday, five millimetres on the straight and four on the round course, just to keep some moisture in.
