Freedman Hopes For Stakes' Success With Kiwi Filly
Emerging trainer Mitchell Freedman is hoping his Kiwi-bred filly Gregorian Chant brings him his first Stakes success after 10 unsuccessful previous attempts.
Freedman said that while the filly, who is by SA Derby runner-up Echoes Of Heaven, has not yet fully matured, the opportunity to gain a Black Type as a two-year-old was too hard to resist, especially after winning her maiden so convincingly at Bendigo last month.
"She seems to have taken good improvement from Bendigo," Freedman said on Wednesday. "She's still pretty raw and not physically or mentally at her best yet but she's got a good constitution she's handling her work really well so we thought we'd try our chances over a mile.
