U S Navy Flag Is Being Readied For The Everest Journey
Top conditioner Adian O’brien has started preparations for U S Navy Flag to tackle The Everest. U S Navy Flag is The Everest’s first international runner, in 2017 Coolmore’s home bred filly Tulip finished fifth in the inaugural running.
The colt is currently enjoying a well deserved break after his spectacular July Cup win.
O’Brien has confirmed plans for the three-time Group 1 winner to enter quarantine early in September and he’s expected to arrive in Sydney around September 22. The challenging Australian conditions may test his metel to the fullest but its likely to be Coolmore’s number one rider Ryan Moore to make sure he pulls it through with the usual panache.
Long time favourite Trapeze Artist had his first barrier trial of his Everest campaign at Rosehill and pleased trainer Gerald Ryan running fifth, beaten 0.7 lengths, in a 900m heat.
