Godolphin Lands Five In Australian Season Opener
Guineas-winning colt Kementari made a sensational return to racing, in the Gr.2 Missile Stakes he was runner up to Pierata.
With this win, the Pierro colt has staked a claim for a slot in the A$13 million Everest.
Kementari was caught in traffic at a vital stage before storming to the line. Kementari found himself in an awkward, midfield position from the jump and had to force a passage at the 200m mark as he set out after Pierata. But in the end he just missing Pierata as he crossed over.
Kementari's next outing is likely to be the Gr.1 Memsie Stakes Caulfield on 1 September for his next assignment.

The Godolphin team produced five city winners on the day. Among them was Avilius, formerly trained in France by Andre Fabre, who was having his first Australian start in the Benchmark 91 Handicap.
Godolphin also had wins with Multaja in the SAJ Fruits Handicap and Morton’s Fork in the Cash Out Handicap at Moonee Valley in Melbourne, Intuition in a Benchmark 82 Handicap and Soothing in the Australian Turf Club Handicap at Randwick.
