#ThisWeekInThoroughbreds
This week, some interesting top horses have been retired to the breeding barn. Lets take a look -
The Charles Fipke's multi group winning homebred Bee Jersey has been retired from racing after a tendon injury. The son of Jersey Town was second to Gr.1 Dubai World Cup (2018) winner Thunder Snow in the UAE 2000 Guineas-G3. His wins from his lasttwo starts include the Gr.3 Steve Sexton Mile and the Gr.1 Met Handicap.
Red Oak Stable's homebred Gr.1 winner Unbridled Mo has also been retired and will be sent to Kentucky to join the Red Oak broodmare band at Darby Dan Farm. Red Oak Stable's racing and operations manager Rick Sacco and Todd Pletcher took the final decision after reviewing her form after her last start where she placed fifth in the Gr.2 Delaware Handicap.
Earlier in the year, Menari was selected for The A$13m Everest Race. She was scratched after a foot injury. Eventually owners decided to retire the freakishly talented Snitzel sprinter. The stallion will stand at Newgate Farm as a late but exciting addition to their 2018 stallion roster.
And finally with the news paper reems seemingly filled with
Monomoy Girl news, her breeders decided to capitalise on the fame by selling her Dam in the Fasig-Tipton November Sale, with Gainesway as agent.
