More quality breeze up results at Warwick Farm
The third and final major Inglis breeze up session was completed at Warwick Farm today, where 42 horses broke the 11 second barrier.
The fastest was Lot 145, a Declaration of War x Russeting colt for Hannover Lodge which breezed in 10.34secs.
“Bjorn Baker has to be credited with the bulk of the prep for this colt, who is a strong, mature colt with a beautiful stride and he breezed very well today,’’ Hannover Lodge’s Hinnerk Heuppe said.
“The dam Russeting was very good and this colt has plenty of ability and we’re hoping for a good result at the sale in a few weeks.’’
Other leading breeze up times from today included Lot 154 (Lionheart Thoroughbreds’ Uncle Mo x Shamtastic colt) who clocked 10.37secs, while three 2YOs breezed in 10.40secs - Blake Ryan’s pair of Lot 93 (Fighting Sun x Jaguars colt) and Lot 126 (Toronado x Passion Cheval colt) and Hannover Lodge’s Lot 146, an All Too Hard x Sacha Royale colt.
In total of the 137 horses who have breezed at either Warwick Farm, Cranbourne or Taupo in the past week, 82 have run sub 11 seconds.
The average time of all breeze ups is 10.9 seconds.
There is a final small breeze up session of approximately 12 horses at Warwick Farm at 9.30am on Friday 12th October for horses that have missed breezing up in the earlier sessions.
Following this session there will be a champagne brunch that is open to the public where all lots in the catalogue will be paraded in the Riverside presale parade ring.
Inglis General Manager of Bloodstock Jonathan D’Arcy described today’s action as “a great success’’.
“The horses were all presented in magnificent order by the vendors and the fast times on display is a testament to the work having been done in the prepping of these horses,’’ D’Arcy said.
“With our three major breeze up sessions now completed, all the information and vision is there for the prospective buyers to analyse over the next three and a half weeks before the sale.
