The Gr.1 Moir Stakes' Happenings
The A J Moir Stakes is full of action with many of the confirmed Everest runners in this field. Darren Weir heads the field with his duo (Nature Strip and Voodoo Lad) for Gr.1 Moonee Valley sprint
Trainer Robbie Laing's Moir Stakes' contestant Missrock is in-season. With warnings against using products containing
altrenogest, Laing was reluctant to use products which have worked for the mare previously.
"It’s affected her now. She’s leaning up against the side of the box and has got her tail up over her back,
“I just don’t know what she’ll be like on the float on the way home but some mares go better when they’re in season." Laing said after her gallop at Moonee Valley earlier this week.

Nature Strip is leading the list of favourites. Everyone is expecting to see the colt's who was recently confirmed for The Everest, conmpete against some of the the best from the Everest field.
While Ball Of Muscle who is not in The Everest (yet!!) is out to cause a Moir Stakes' upset.
In The Heath he beat a field which included Everest runners Brave Smash and Santa Ana Lane and in The Shorts three Everest contenders, Invincible Star, Brave Smash and English finished behind him.
“The Everest is not really on our agenda,”
“We’ll just enjoy beating the Everest horses.” Pride said.
On Friday, the gelding’s will be up against boom sprinter Nature Strip who has a berth in The Everest.
And finally, an impressive barrier trial at Cranbourne has Viddora on track for the Group One race on Friday
Viddora was beaten in a photo finish by Everest contender She Will Reign in last year’s Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley and trainer Lloyd Kennewell has targeted the weight-for-age sprint on Friday week as her first-up assignment.
This year's installment of the
