Hong Kong Raider Lucky Bubbles Injured In Japan
Hong Kong raider Lucky Bubbles sustained an injury low down in his near foreleg during an attempt to win the Gr. 1 Sprinters Stakes.
One of Asia's best speedsters Lucky Bubbles may not be able to win a second Gr.1 hereon, but trainer Francis Lui's sole concerns was the well being of his stable star. Lui remained close to the Sebring seven-year-old while vets attended him at the racecourse hospital who was identified with a suspensory ligament tear.
Lucky Bubbles was tracking race favourite Fine Needle when misfortune struck. The Godolphin horse powered wide up the Nakayama hill to land the prize by a neck under Yuga Kawada; the three-year-old filly Love Kampf was second, a half-length ahead of Rhein Spirit.
