When The Everest is on your doorstep, there is a definite buzz about in the racing industry.
Racegoers are energized and want to be part of the industry which offers some of the highest returns in the world.
During Everest week, well known auctioneers, Magic Millions brings up one of their most successful sales, with 219 exciting prospects for buyers looking for immediate racing successes.
Youngsters have breezed thrice already across three states in the lead up to the auction giving prospective buyers a great chance to see each lot gallop on a similar surface.
Last year, strong domestic and international competition helped the average price rise over 20% giving vendors of quality stock a much needed boost.
Twenty three 2017 graduates, have already won for their connections, headlined by recent Aushorse Golden Horseshoe winner Lim’s Lightning and Australian juvenile stakes winner Krone.
First Breeze Up
Twenty Four promising juveniles went through the paces, on the all weather track at Sydney’s Warwick Farm in perfect weather conditions.
Quick times were the order of the day with a
Hinchinbrook gelding (Lot 79) posting 9.81 seconds. Consigned by O’Gorman Racing Stables the Hinchinbrook two-year-old is from the four time winning Falkirk mare La Valeta.
Overall 17 out of the 24 of the two-year-olds today ran sub-11 second breezes over the electronically timed 200 meter sectional.
Other youngsters to run quick times during the session included a Shamexpress gelding (Lot 16, 10.11 secs), a
Choisir colt (Lot 166, 10.16 secs), an Arlington colt (Lot 171, 10.23 secs) and a Star Witness colt (Lot 176, 10.25 secs).
Second Breeze-Up
Here Twenty Four of the Thirty Three 2YOs posted sub-11 seconds time on the all weather track at Seymour in Victoria.
Better Than Ready-Upper Notch colt from the draft of Baystone Farm set the quickest time record of the morning of 10.19 seconds. This Lyndhurst Farm based sire has seen all three members of his first crop win at the official trials.
The second fastest 200 metre breeze came from Lot 111 – the
Dundeel filly from Natural Selection who clocked 10.21 seconds.
The filly, presented by Capital Gain’s consignor Moffatt Breaking & Pre Training, is from a two time winning half sister to the Golden Slipper placed sire Zizou.
She will be out to emulate Darren Weir’s quality three-year-old filly Krone who was the fastest filly at the same session last year and is already a stakes winner for her Roll the Dice Racing connections.
Other youngsters to impress on the day were colts by Deep Field (Lot 40 in 10.28 secs), Uncle Mo (Lot 101 in 10.33 secs) and Mawingo (Lot 154 in 10.35 secs).
Third Breeze Up
A colt from an exciting young freshman sire Whittington (Lot 220), from the draft of Alexia Fraser Bloodstock, ran the quickest breeze of the day when clocking 10.03 seconds.
Fifty Six out of the Seventy Six 2YOs to breeze ran sub-11 second breeze-ups at the Gold Coast track.
Others to impress on the day included Smart Missile colt (one of the most successful 2017 sires of this sale), Spirit of Boom filly (Lot 11 – 10.85 secs), Zoustar colt (Lot 27 – 10.75 secs) and many others.
The final breeze up is scheduled on 8 Oct at Gold Coast.
