Former Owner Of Stonerside Stable Bob McNair Dies
Former owner and breeder Bob McNair, who founded Stonerside Stable, (which was eventually sold to Darley), died earlier this month after an intense battle with cancer at the age of 81.
The stable won 11 Gr.1 races, including five with Congaree , who twice placed in classics and earned more than US$3.2 million for trainer Bob Baffert.
McNair sold Stonerside Stable after he decided to focus on his NFL franchise. He made his fortune after selling his energy company Cogen Technologies to Enron for $1.5 billion in 1999.
