Increased Prize Money and More International Raiders Head To Dubai The 2019 Dubai World Cup Carnival
Top rated international horses will compete in the 16th Dubai World Cup Carnival for a share of the US$12,670,000 prize money across 10 race cards headlined by the Super Saturday card which offers US$2.65 million in prize money.
The international stars include Almond Eye, who smashed the track record when winning the Japan Cup last Sunday.
Australian David Hayes (who was also active during the 2018 Dubai Carnival) has plans to bring the Shadwell Stud-owned trio of Faatinah, Shaf and Mutamayel, while his fellow countryman Peter Gelagotis is sending Illustrious Lad over.
Chris Waller who dominates the list of acceptances from Australia is set to bring his Gr. 1 winners Comin Through, Good Project and Shillelagh among others.
French trainer Andre Fabre brings his top rated Waldgeist into the fray. While owner-trainer Peter Schiergen who has contested in the Dubai World Cup previously as well, will be hoping to best the locals with German bred Kronprinz
The Dubai World Cup Carnival will feature 61 Thoroughbred races and 4 Group Purebred Arabian races.
