Juddmonte Farms’ Weekender Pointed At Dubai Gold Cup
The field for the Gr.2 Dubai Gold Cup headlined by Godolphin’s Gr.1 Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter will be joined by Juddmonte Farms’ Weekender.
The son of Frankel finished third in the Irish St Leger, will likely be the only representative from the famed ownership on Dubai World Cup night. The John Gosden trained colt was also second to subsequent Melbourne Cup runner-up Marmelo in York’s Grand Cup Stakes (L) by a neck in June.
Others in the running for the event are Gr.3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy romper Ispolini, Melbourne Cup-placed Prince of Arran, Gr.2 San Marcos victor Platinum Warrior and Gr.1 Irish St Leger champion Flag of Honour.
