First Foal Of 2014 One Thousand Guineas Winner To Debut in Prix de Firfol
The foal (by Galileo) of the Gr.1 One Thousand Guineas Miss France winning mare, will be teaming up with the same owner and trainer duo Prix de Firfol for unraced juvenile fillies at Deauville.
Her classic-winning dam is one of five winners out of the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac-Criterium des Pouliches heroine Miss Tahiti, along with the listed winner Mer de Corail.
Miss Tahiti also achieved placings in the Gr.1 French Oaks, Gr.1 Prix Saint-Alary, and Gr. Prix Vermeille, and is a daughter of Tirol, who completed the Anglo-Irish Guineas double in 1990.
Miss France has visited Galileo every year since retiring to stud and also has a yearling filly named Miss Saigon.
Galileo has produced two notable performers out of Dansili mares in the ill-fated Investec Derby (G1) runner-up Cliffs of Moher and Ribblesdale Stakes (G2) heroine Magic Wand.
Closer to home Eva Maria, a Sea The Stars half sister to group 2-winning juvenile and Rathbarry Stud resident James Garfield, has been declared for the one mile Sri Lanka Wonder of Asia EBF Novice Stakes at Thirsk.
