Classique Legend Good to Go, Says Kerrin McEvoy
Dual Everest winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy says he was as happy as he could be with exciting prospect Classique Legend in his first public appearance last week.
The Les Bridge-trained 4YO stepped out at the Randwick trials, finishing a strong closing second behind seven-time Stakes winning sprinter and fellow The Everest contender Sunlight in the 1000m heat on the course proper.
McEvoy said the next seven days or so will decide the next move for Classique Legend but at this stage the son of Not A Single Doubt is likely to start his racing campaign in the Gr.2 The Shorts.
McEvoy is in the box-seat to ride at least two of the 12 The Everest runners in the A$14 million contest and he said his choice will be revealed at some point next month.
