Edmonds Set To Be Released From Hospital In 48 Hours After Being Trampled
Gold Coast trainer Toby Edmonds was trampled by a runaway horse on Monday and is on painkillers and has several stitches in his head, as well as sore ribs. He was knocked to the ground and knocked unconscious when the horse struck him.
Speaking from his hospital bed, he said he had stepped in front of the loose horse, which was charging past his stalls on the Gold Coast, to try to prevent injury to others.
Edmonds faces tests and further scans on Tuesday but says he expects to be cleared of any serious injury and could be home within 48 hours.
Edmonds, who co-trains with son Trent, has had 34 winners this season including Sparkling Facet who won the last race at Lismore on Monday, one of five winners at the meeting for stable jockey Ryan Maloney.
