McNaught Secures A Jewel To Ride In Gr.1 Railway Stakes
In appreciation of her top form, the up-and-coming WA apprentice Jade McNaught has scored a maiden Gr.1 ride aboard Adam Durrant-trained Perfect Jewel in the Railway Stakes at Ascot.
McNaught trails the 'Wizard of the West' William Pike by 1-1/2 wins in the Western Australian metropolitan jockeys' premiership.
Perfect Jewel finished fourth in last year’s Railway Stakes, won by the talented mare Galaxy Star.
The 5yo daughter of Redoute’s Choice heads into the Railway Stakes third-up from a spell and finished third at her last start in the Gr.3 Asian Beau Stakes (1400m).
McNaught is yet to ride Perfect Jewel under race conditions but has partnered the mare in trackwork.
