Irish Trainer, David Marnane Bring Top Trio To Dubai
A trio of David Marnane's top three horses have arrived in Dubai and are currently in quarantine at Meydan. The highest-profile of the trio is McGettigans Management Services and Mauice Casey’s Settle for Bay, thanks to his popular victory in the 1600 Royal Hunt Cup (Handicap) at Royal Ascot 2018. Last season, he ran twice at the DWC Carnival and failed to factor.
Laurence O’Kane and Melanie Marnane’s hard-trying sprinter Alfredo Arcano and the improving Freescape, who races for City Equine Syndicate and comes to Dubai for a third consecutive winter. Soon to be five, the son of Gr.1 Dubai Turf winner Cityscape also exits a victory in December at Dundalk his over 1600m. He has 3 wins to his credit from 20 starts and he was placed third in the Meydan Classic (2018).
The son of Arcano will start things off on opening night when he clashes with the best local sprinters in the Gr.3 US$200,000 Dubawi Stakes, his first try on dirt.
Marnane, who is a regular at the 10-week international showcase, the Irish conditioner is optimistic that said triad, will be competitive this season.
