Lady Apple claimed Gr.3 US$300,000 Houston Ladies Classic beating an esteemed field of six, featuring three Grade 1 winner in Out for a Spin, Serengeti Empress and Street Band and Grade 2 heroine Mylady Curlin, herself a three-time Grade 3 champ in 2019.
Kentucky Oaks winner Serengeti Empress broke to the front, per her style. Lady Apple, Mylady Curlin and Street Band moved up to challenge Serengeti Empress as the field hit the stretch. That quartet went four-wide for the final furlong, with Lady Apple emerging on the rail for jockey Ricardo Santana Jr.
